Dream of Becoming a Dentist
Dr. Ellis knew dentistry would be her path at the age of 5 when she became fascinated with pulling her own baby teeth! It would be 10 years later before Dr. Ellis every met a dentist or went to the dentist for dental care. Dr. Ellis was born in West Helena, Arkansas. It's a city located in the Mississippi Delta of the U.S.A., a geographical region consider to be the nation's most impoverished areas.
2005
Start of Dental Career
While in college at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Dr. Ellis begin volunteering at Roaf & Caudle Dental Office. She was able to learn about the patients' experience and the business of dentistry by working in each role in the office over several years. This experience plays a key role in how Dr. Ellis practices dentistry today.
2006
Breast Cancer Research
Dr. Ellis completed her breast cancer research with The Arkansas Cancer Research Center at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
2007
Who's Who Among Colleges & Universities
Dr. Ellis graduated college from The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff earning her B.S. in biology. She received recognition in the Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities publication based on her academic performance and extracurricular activity involvement.
2008
National Health Service Corps Scholarship
While attending Meharry Medical College, Dr. Ellis was selected as a recipient of the highly competitive National Health Service Corp Scholarship. Dr. Ellis was able to begin her career after graduation in community health centers across the United States. Dr. Ellis completed her service obligations in 2015 and continued working in this sector until 2018, Dr. Ellis received many accolades and propelled oral healthcare in her role as Chief Dental Officer.
2011
Awarded Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with National Recognition
Dr. Ellis was awarded her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College on May 21, 2011. Dr. Ellis also earned recognition in the Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities based on her academic performance while attending Meharry Medical College.
2014
Appointed as the National Dental Health Expert by the U.S. Secretary of H.H.S.
Dr. Ellis was nominated by her peers and selected to be the national dental health expert to serve on the National Advisory Council. Dr. Ellis served in the capacity for 4 years.
2015
Recognized in the 35 under 35 Publication
Dr. Ellis was selected for the Heizme's 35 under 35 publication.
2016
National Oral Health Leadership Institute
Dr. Ellis was selected and completed training in the National Oral Health Leadership Institute through the National Network of Oral Health Access.

Health Advisory Committee for Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc.
Dr. Ellis began working with Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc. providing oral healthcare guidance and exams for the participants.

Dr. Ellis has been recognized in newspapers within the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex for her professional contributions of clinical dentistry and securing private & federal grant funding for under served communities.

Dr. Ellis serves as an ambassador for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. She also serves on their scholarship committee.

Grand Opening of Private Practice Dental Office
In March 2019, Dr. Ellis started Love Your Smile Dentistry, PLLC. Construction to build out the dental practice began in April 2019.
